Chuck Jones used the Elmer Fudd character off and on. Friz Freleng even created his own character, Yosemite Sam, as a foe to match wits with Bugs because he felt Bugs come across as a bully to Elmer and that Sam would be more of a challenge. Most of the animation directors, according to producer David DePatie, didn't like the Elmer Fudd character.
Some of those characters listed were created as foils for Bugs Bunny to break up the formula of the Bugs/Elmer cartoons. Both 'Sleepy Time Possum' and 'Hare We Go' were directed by the under-rated but super talented Robert McKimson.
